|click for information||1989 Vixen 21 SE has approximately 44,000 original miles. Used every summer in NY state for a month camp site. In great condition always stored in garage, only out during the month of camping. It has a free wheel transmission that gets about 22 miles to the gallon. Original owner. No restoration needed, replaced carpet with laminate flooring and darkened cabinets. Added fan over bed. Most repairs completed by Preston Van Patten. |VERY RARE - 1988 Vixen 21 SE; 5 Speed, 6-cyl BMW Turbo Diesel Pusher. Serial number 503. Yes, you read that correctly. This is one of very few known to exist. It is a very early SE model that was built at the factory with a 5 speed manual and a BMW Turbo Diesel. According to the serial number range for the SE model this would have been the 3rd one built I believe.|
|When I picked this up I had every intention of restoring it. But life has simply not panned out that way and I have decided to sell her and move on. It needs a full restoration and due to its age obviously it’s a little rough in places. I have not removed any of the interior so the next owner will be able to see what he needs to do. It starts, runs and drives (moves around) but needs to be gone through completely. It should NOT be considered road worthy, in other words you cannot drive it home and you WILL NEED to arrange for transport to your location (it cannot be driven on the road). It has had a water leak in the rear at some point and the paneling/wood in the sleeping area needs replaced. I resealed the top and stopped most of the leak, but it still gets damp occasionally. I am not going to restore it so I will let the next owner chase that small leak down. I have replaced the power master brake booster (original failed, but I will include it for parts). There is also an extra alternator, condition unknown. I replaced the cab lights (front and rear), new seals around windows and new door handles/locks/keys. New tires and battery earlier this year as well. Front passenger side windshield has a crack in it where it had a rock chip, but the crack is low and turned downward. I have not gone through ANY of the plumbing or electrical systems, I have only started it and moved it around the shop/yard. I also have the 2 exterior side panels/covers that are not in the pictures, just forgot to put them on before taking pictures. I can try to answer any questions as best as possible and provide specific pictures if needed. Remember above all this is a project vehicle, IT NEEDS RESTORED to be completely safe and fully functional. But it would be an amazingly rare piece of automotive history to share with everyone.|
